Tundra Timber was established through coordination across UIC Arctic Operations & Development, including transportation and staging of more than 750,000 pounds of lumber and building materials in Utqiaġvik. The company works with a Washington‑based supplier to source high‑quality products suitable for structural, architectural, and general construction applications. Materials are selected based on performance in Arctic conditions and use in common framing, sheathing, and load‑bearing construction.
Products and Inventory Overview

Available materials include kiln‑dried Douglas Fir dimensional lumber used for framing and structural work, offering stability, strength, and consistency for interior and exterior applications. Green Douglas Fir lumber is also stocked for general construction purposes. Fir‑based AC plywood and CDX structural panels are available for sheathing, flooring, roofing, and other exterior‑rated applications. Engineered wood products include exterior‑rated glulam beams designed for strength, long‑span capability, and stability in structural projects. Posts and pilings are also available to support a variety of building and foundation needs.
