UIC Science Supports ICEX 2018

UIC Science, LLC provided logistical support services that involved the construction of a temporary man camp located 150 nautical miles north of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Three nuclear submarines participated in the ICEX project.

ICEX 2018 is a five-week biennial exercise that allows the U.S. Navy to assess its operational readiness in the Arctic, increase experience in the region, advance understanding of the Arctic environment, and continue to develop relationships with other services, allies and partner organizations.

The USS Connecticut from Bangor, Wash.; USS Hartford from Groton, Conn.; and the Royal Navy submarine HMS Trenchant will conduct multiple Arctic transits, a North Pole surfacing, scientific data collection and other training evolutions during their time in the region.
